Tails lost sight of Eggman and is still enraged by what Eggman said. He needs to come up with a plan to catch up to him, but to do that, he needs to be calm. He cools himself down and thinks. In the midst of thinking, he finds himself remembering another flashback.

[Flashback]

Eggman: Alright, Tails! Give it up! Sonic's not here to help you!

Tails: You're too late, Eggman! I already got rid of it! And I'll never tell you where it is! No matter how hard you try to pry it out of me!

Eggman: I'll be the judge of that! Metal Sonic! Grab him!

Metal Sonic: YES, SIR!

Tails: Uh-oh! SONIC! HELP!!!! SOOOOOOOONIIIIIIC!!!!!

A shining ring floats up and creates a massive flash that blinds Eggman and his robots!

Eggman: ARGH!!! MY EYES! I CAN'T SEE!!!

Tails: Huh?

"Go! Hurry and run! Save yourself like you saved her!"

Tails: *Grabs the ring and runs* Right! Run! GO!

"You want her to live on for your sake. You must live on for her's as well."

Tails:....Yeah. (How is this ring talking to me?)

[Flashback ends]

Tails: So it was her who saved me. I can't believe I forgot about that. *Looks at the ring* It's almost as if you knew this would happen. All of it. Then you probably know this next part! *The Time Stones start glowing* History repeats itself! Here I come, Eggman!

The Final Zone begins! Metallic Madness Zone! Tails charges straight in as he did in Stardust Speedway Zone as a shining light! Holding his right fist out in front with the ring around it lighting everything up, almost resembling him in a Super-like form with the 7 Chaos Emeralds. He takes the mad dash all the way to the end, determined to make Eggman regret his words! He passes through the goalpost in record time! Even faster than Sonic did! He looks up and Eggman is there infront of him laughing at him with a sinister laugh while his computer gives an evil quote. Eggman taunts him as he flies over to the next Zone!

In Zone 2, the first thing Tails does is pass through a Future sign and jumps onto one of the spinning disc-like platforms and goes into a roll to pick up speed for an easy warp to the Good Future! He exits the warp and ends up in a much brighter Metallic Madness with free animals, grass and flowers all over, and no enemies except large walking Bombs! Tails flies through the routes, making catching up with Eggman easier. However, he is stopped short when he passes through something rather weird. A laser shoots downward and turns him into a Chibi Tails! D'AWW!!!

Tails: Wha?! *Voice gets higher-pitched* What happened?! NOW I'M EVEN SMALLER! Eggman! You did this! I'll get you for this!

As Chibi Tails progresses trying to find the laser to turn him back to normal, he keeps going until he bumps into a Giant Bomb! He falls down and tries to get up as the Giant Bomb is just about ready to blow up! He hits the deck!

Tails: Uh-oh! AAAAH!!!

Amy rushes in and grabs him and runs out of the blasts radius with Rosy right behind!

Tails: Huh? Wh-what?

Amy: Different time and place, and you still need help!

Tails: Huh? *Looks up*

Amy: *Salutes and winks* Never fear when Amy Rose is here!

Tails: A-Amy?! What are you doing here?! I told you to go back to-

Amy: I know, but I couldn't just leave you all alone!

Rosy: AWW!! Look at 'em! He's adorable! He looks like a puppy!

Tails: What?.....*Looks at himself and remembers he's still tiny* Oh yeah, that's right.... Well. Thanks for saving me. But you can put me down now.

Amy: Nu-uh! You aren't getting out that easily! Not when you're that cute!

Tails: WHAT?!

Rosy: Don't be selfish! I wanna hold 'em too!

Tails: YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING!!!

After that relaxing moment, Amy and Rosy help Tails find the growth laser and brings him back to his previous size.

Tails: There. That's better.

Rosy: Aww... I'm gonna miss the tiny plushy Tails.

Amy: Watch how you say that. You might regret it later with something called the "Tails Doll".

Rosy: The what?

Tails: Uh... Let's forget that now! Okay, now I have to go. And I'm serious, you have to get back to the plane where it's safe. Amy, I taught you how to fly it, so you should be able to pick me up when I'm done all this here. Rosy. Sonic will be here soon. He'll get you out of here.

Rosy: SONIC?! He will?! You mean it?!

Tails: Time will go as it should. Go to this location here. Amy, you know what to do.

Amy: Alright. I trust that plan.

Rosy: Okay. But first I wanna group hug!

Tails: A what now?!

Amy and Rosy get a group hug with Tails and the golden ring shines brightly with the Time Stones. A voice is heard saying: "Whether they know it or not, you are all together as a family." Tails begins to glow and he returns to his current size and age as he was before he went back in time. Symbolically referring to him becoming like that of an adult.

Tails: (Yeah... we all are. But there is still one thing left to take care of.) Alright. Now you two get going. I'll be waiting for everything to fall into place.

Amy & Rosy: Okay!

Tails, Amy, and Rosy split up and go to where they need to be. Tails is back to his grown self and at his strongest! He pushes through to the end of Zone 2. From a different route, Sonic runs up to where the goalpost is, but sees Tails fly right over it! He stops and tries to make sense of it, but then decides to just move on after him!

Metallic Madness Zone 3 begins and Tails takes to the skies to collect some rings and a shield to aid him in the final battle against Eggman. He flies over the infamous pitfall and goes into the opening to the upper level, passes through the moving spike wall via the rotating platform, and destroys the Lightning Bugs (Hotaru) as Eggman's last line of defense, and heads to the final room with Eggman waiting. Eggman opens the curtain and descends in his final machine. The PSYCHO EGG CROSS! The Final Fever plays for this last battle!

Eggman: EHUHUHUHUH!!! OOOHOHOHOHOH!!!! My, how you've grown! Doesn't matter, however! For you'll face my final fury and regret it no matter how much taller you are! Prepare to die here and now, Tails!!! HOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOOO!!! Any last words?!

Tails: I have nothing left to say to you, Eggman. Except, you have pushed my limits far beyond anything before. I've become stronger from it.

Eggman: Eh?

Tails: And now... I'm going to take that strength you've given me.... AND BLOW YOU TO BITS WITH IT!

READY FIGHT!

Eggman rotates the 4 attachments around and goes in to crush him with it as he steamrolls along the ground! Tails tries to avoid getting hit, but inevitably, he gets hit and loses his shield. However, he takes this chance to counterattack him while he is temporarily invincible during recovery. The first attachment falls off and reveals the first weakspot for him to hit next time around.

Eggman: WHAT?! DID YOU DO THAT?! ARGH!!!

Tails: *Notices his first blueprint page on the attachment* That's it! *Takes it and tears it up* So that's where you put them. You shouldn't have done that, Eggman! All I have to do is hit the segments off, and it'll all be over!

Eggman: YOU LITTLE! I'LL FINISH YOU YET!

Tails continues to hit him and tear the pages of his blueprints up until he is down to his last attachment and page! Determined to end this once and for all, Tails hits him one last time as Eggman tries to crush him with the EGG CROSS Pogojump!

Tails: IT'S FINISHED! *Jumps to hit him one last time*

Eggman: NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! *KA-BOOOOOOOM*

K.O.!!!

Tails: Uh-oh! I knew this would happen! C'mon, Amy! Hurry up with that plane so we can get out of here!

This is it! The final zone! It's almost over! After seven chapters of character development, emotional scenes, and revealed secrets, it's coming to a close! OR IS IT?! We still have an epilogue left to go! YAY!!!

I loved Metallic Madness Zone for having the best music in the whole franchise! I hated Zone 2 for having such a confusing layout to the point where I actually got stuck! But still loved it! Zone 3 notably has the ONLY pitfall in the game! But when playing as Tails, there is nothing to worry about when it comes to that pitfall!
